Game Element CAD Sources

Where to obtain CAD files for the Override 2026–27 V5RC game elements — pin, cup, goals, loaders, toggles, and field structure. VEX maintains the authoritative CAD on their own sites; this page is a navigation hub, not a mirror.

Use this as your first stop whenever a team needs game-element CAD for an Onshape assembly, a Fusion check, a 3D print, or a fit-clearance study.

// QUICK PICK

If you just need CAD right now: try https://link.vex.com/docs/26-27/v5rc/field-cad first. That's VEX's documented redirect to the official Override field CAD package.

01Primary official source — VEX field CAD

// CANONICAL · FULL FIELD PACKAGE

VEX Official Override Field CAD

https://link.vex.com/docs/26-27/v5rc/field-cad

VEX's documented redirect to the complete Override 2026–27 field CAD package. Confirmed in use by community modelers who extracted STLs from these files using FreeCAD. The package typically contains pin, cup, goals (short + tall), loaders, toggles, and field perimeter.

02Per-part STEP from VEX product pages

Per the official V5RC knowledge base:

“The official CAD for every VEX Robotics part can be found on the products pages at VexRobotics.com. Go to the part's listing on the site, and you can download a .step (.stp) format file of every VEX V5 and VEX IQ part.”

Translation: if you only need one element (e.g., just the cup), go straight to that element's product page instead of pulling the full field package.

// FULL GAME & FIELD ELEMENT KIT

Override Full Kit (276-9250)

https://www.vexrobotics.com/276-9250.html

Contains all field & game elements required for the 2026–27 Override field. STEP downloads typically appear in a "Downloads" or "Specs" section on the product page.

// SCORING ELEMENT KIT (CUP + PIN)

Override Scoring Element Kit (276-9255)

https://www.vexrobotics.com/276-9255.html

Spare cup and pin only. Useful if you just need the two scoring elements without the full field kit. Note: as of game release, this kit was listed as pre-order with shipping starting May 2026.

03Community alternatives // STL ONLY — NOT STEP

These are 3D-printable STL/3MF files derived from VEX's official CAD. Useful for printing test elements when you don't yet have the physical kit; not suitable for CAD assembly work (STLs are tessellated, not parametric).

Pin (full + top/bottom for two-color print), cup (full + clear/dark sections), and short goal. Author explicitly sources from link.vex.com/docs/26-27/v5rc/field-cad and extracted using FreeCAD.

04Which file format do you need?

Your taskFormat you needBest source
Onshape / Fusion / Inventor / SolidWorks assembly STEP (.step / .stp) VEX official field CAD or per-part product pages
3D printing a test pin or cup at home STL (.stl) or 3MF Printables (Sebastien Harens) or Thingiverse (rangerdashthearcher)
Quick clearance / fit check in Onshape STEP VEX field CAD → import the cup, pin, or goal you need
Bambu / Prusa slicer for the lab printer STL or 3MF Community Printables/Thingiverse files
Animation / rendering STEP VEX field CAD → import into rendering software
// QUICK RULE

STEP for CAD work, STL for 3D printing. Don't try to do CAD assembly with an STL — you'll fight the mesh forever. Don't try to slice a STEP — most slicers want STL or 3MF.

05Why we don't host VEX's CAD on this site

VEX maintains the CAD on their own product pages and the link.vex.com redirect. Redistribution rights are not clearly stated in their public documentation, and VEX has chosen to gate distribution through their own channels. To stay on the safe side, this team site only links to those sources rather than mirroring the files.

If VEX publishes the CAD with an open redistribution license in the future, we can reconsider hosting a local mirror to reduce dead-link risk. Until then, the canonical URLs above are the single source of truth.

06If a link is dead or the file isn't there yet

The Override game manual released April 27, 2026. CAD files typically appear within days of game release, but sometimes lag behind. If link.vex.com/docs/26-27/v5rc/field-cad resolves to a 404 or countdown page:

// DO NOT

Don't paste a community-extracted STEP into a final design without verifying dimensions against the game manual. Conversion through FreeCAD or other tools can introduce small geometric errors. For competition-critical fit work (clearances, gripper geometry), use VEX's official STEP — not a re-converted file.
