College Volunteer Guide
Spartan Design hosts three V5RC tournaments this fall, and college students make outstanding event volunteers. Earn verified service hours, get hands-on STEM experience, and mentor the next generation of engineers. Most roles include event-day training — no robotics background required.

Every shift is logged and signed off. Bring your college, scholarship, or honor-society hours form — or request a signed letter of service.

Run fields, scoring, and inspection at a real robotics tournament — great for engineering, CS & education majors.

Be a near-peer role model for students discovering robotics — meaningful outreach that makes a real difference.

Events We're Hosting
Roles for College Volunteers
- Setup / teardown — fields, pits, tables & electronics
- Field reset & inspection — check robots, reset between matches
- Queueing — stage teams and keep fields on schedule
- Practice / skills — supervise attempts and scoring
- Scoring & TM assist — help run the match system
- Judging — experience valued; confidentiality required
- Check-in — welcome teams and give directions
- Concessions — setup, inventory, sales & cash
- Team & volunteer support — be the friendly face of the event
Shifts & Hours

| Friday Setup | 3:00–7:00 PM | Fields, pits, power/electronics, signs, tables and concessions. Great low-pressure first shift. |
| AM Event | 7:00 AM–12:30 PM | Check-in, inspection, practice/skills, matches and hospitality; lunch/handoff at noon. |
| PM Event | 12:00–5:30 PM | Matches, skills, finals, awards and event close — please stay through 5:30. |
| Cleanup Crew | 3:00–7:00 PM | Breakdown, trailer loading and gym sweep. Event pack-down begins at 5:00 PM. |
Service Hours, Verified
We log and sign off every shift. Bring your college, scholarship, or honor-society hours form on event day — or request a signed letter of service afterward. Full-day volunteers can log 8+ hours.

Pick your events, roles, and shifts — bring a friend, club, or fraternity/sorority service group. Early sign-ups get first pick and help us plan staffing. Training is provided for every role.
